If I’m not paying, am I the product? No! Homeway was founded by Quinn Damerell in 2024 as a community project for the Home Assistant community. Homeway keeps its services “as free as possible” so Homeway can be used and enjoyed by everyone. Homeway is not part of a larger company or industry, and it has no shareholders, so there’s no pressure to keep expanding and making more money. As long as the Supporter Perks income covers the cost of operating, developing, and maintaining the service, Homeway is proud to offer as many services as possible, entirely free, to everyone. Homeway has a strict privacy policy stating that we will never sell or share your Home Assistant data for profit. We take great measures to limit the amount of information we know about our users to an absolute minimum; for example, we don’t even require your name when you create an account.
