Setting up a Google Home integration with your Home Assistant is very easy using Homeway. Homeway handles all the complexity and security for you, keeping things simple and secure! To set up Google Home, do the following:

  1. Set up the Homeway add-on if you haven’t yet.
  2. Open the Google Home App on your phone.
  3. Tap your user profile icon at the top right.
  4. Tap “Home Settings”
  5. Tap the “Works With Google” card.
  6. Search for “Homeway”
  7. Follow the Homeway guide to log in, select the devices you want Google Home to control, and create a secure connection.
That’s it! You now have a secure connection between Google Home and your Home Assistant. You can always control which Home Assistant devices and entities Google Home has access to on the Assistant Device Control page on Homeway.io.
