Setting up an Alexa integration with your Home Assistant is very easy using Homeway. Homeway handles all the complexity and security for you, keeping things simple and secure! To set up Alexa, do the following:

  1. Set up the Homeway add-on if you haven’t yet.
  2. Open the Alexa App on your phone.
  3. Tap the three-line menu icon at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap “Skills & Games”
  5. Search for “Homeway”
  6. Select the search result and tap the “Enable” button.
  7. Follow the Homeway guide to log in, select the devices you want Alexa to control, and create a secure connection.
That’s it! You now have a secure connection between Amazon Alexa and your Home Assistant. You can always control which Home Assistant devices and entities Alexa has access to on the Assistant Device Control page on Homeway.io.
